Computer Requirement:
To satisfy the computer requirement for the B.F.A. degree in creative writing a student must successfully complete CRW 207 or CRW 208 or CRW 209 . Oral Communication Requirement:
To satisfy the oral communication requirement for the B. F. A. degree in creative writing a student must successfully complete CRW 496 . Applied Learning Requirement:
To satisfy the applied learning requirement for the B.F.A. in creative writing a student must successfully complete CRW 496 . Requirements for a Major in Creative Writing for the B. F. A. Degree:
A minimum of 30 hours of courses in the Department of Creative Writing, including CRW 322 - Editing for Publication , and 3 hours in forms of creative writing (CRW 302 , CRW 303 , CRW 304 or CRW 306 ). At least 21 of these hours must be in writing workshop courses in at least two different genres of creative writing, including CRW 496 and one of the following sequences: Students must also complete 15 hours of courses in literature or forms, which may include courses in:

The Department of Foreign Languages:
Additional Information:
At least 9 hours of literature course work must be at the 300 or 400 level. At least 3 hours must be in literature before 1800; at least 3 hours must be in literature after 1800. Students must complete 3 hours of course work beyond the university studies level in fine arts or film studies. Students must also complete 6 hours in courses beyond the university studies level in one of the following areas: natural sciences and mathematical sciences; social and behavioral sciences; or humanities (excluding any literature courses listed above). |
