EDN 503 - Introduction to Early Childhood Education Course Description: This course provides an in-depth exploration and critique of the historical roots, theories, approaches to teaching young children, and standards that guide the field of early childhood education and care. Students will be challenged to critically examine how the historical roots and theories of the field influence practices today and identify steps the field needs to take to ensure equality and equity for all children and families. Additionally, this course will prepare students to teach course content to adult learners in community college settings, professional development, or other adult learning situations.
