Dear Students,

Whether you are new to the university or returning, I extend my congratulations to you on becoming a Seahawk. As a first-generation college graduate, I personally understand how a great education can change your life.  

At UNCW, you have access to a community rich in scholarship, diversity and global perspectives in a beautiful coastal setting. With our programs, our people and our resources, UNCW’s potential is unlimited, as is yours. 

I am starting my second year as Chancellor of this nationally ranked university. I am excited about the direction UNCW is heading thanks to our new Strategic Plan: Soar High, Soar Far, Soar Together, a 10-year blueprint to guide the university’s future. The plan emphasizes opportunities, services and support for students and makes sure UNCW continues to thrive as a regionally relevant and globally important institution.
