EDN 564 - Policy Formulation as a Systemic ProcessCredits: (3)
Designed to develop student’s ability to engage in effective school level policy formulation. Emphasizes analysis of institutional level explanations of school policy environments; national, state, and district influences on school level policy formulation; and the dynamic realities of strategic policy decision-making in a community of diverse and competing interests. Emphasis on the role of school leaders in formulating policy which supports stated goals, objectives, school visions, and school roles. Study and analysis of the types and nature of policy and implementation decisions associated with policy issues in an actual school setting.
