NSG 422  -  Mental Health Nursing Across the Lifespan


This course introduces core concepts of nursing essential to the role of the professional nurse caring for patients with mental health disorders across the lifespan. The course content will include health promotion and restoration for the patients and their families, along with professional values of patient centered care, lifelong learning, and quality improvement. Applications of concepts and essential therapeutic communication and psychomotor skills are demonstrated in clinical experiences working with culturally diverse patients in various agencies.  

Credit Hours: 3 (2 Lecture/1 clinical)

Prerequisite Courses: NSG 311  , NSG 314 , NSG 319  (C or better).
Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated.
