NSG 314 - Nursing Care of Children This course introduces core concepts of nursing essential to the role of the professional nurse caring for children and their families, in the child’s natural environments (i.e. home or school) within the community and in acute care settings. Content will include strategies for improving child health status based on diverse needs of the child and their family, in the context of the child’s situational environment. Professional values of patient and family centered care, life-long learning, and quality improvement will be emphasized. Essential psychomotor skills will be applied via experiences caring for children in a variety of clinical agencies.
Credit Hours: 4 (2 lecture/2 clinical)
Prerequisite Courses: NSG 300 , NSG 302, NSG 306 (C or better) Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated. Major Restriction Nursing
