NSG 430 - Population and Public Health Nursing This course introduces the student to the core concepts essential to the role of the professional nurse in population health. The course focuses on health promotion, and disease and injury prevention based on determinants of local, national, and global health. Content is guided from theories in nursing, psychology, and sociology. Course content will examine how health care delivery systems, public health agencies, and community-based organizations collaborate for health promotion, risk reduction, and disease management and control in vulnerable populations
Credit Hours: 3 (2 lecture/1 clinical)
Prerequisite Courses: NSG 313 , NSG 314 , NSG 426 (C or better). Additional Restrictions/Requirements: Minimum grade of C or better.
