NSG 313 - Nursing Care of Women’s Health Across the Lifespan This course introduces core concepts of nursing essential to the role of the professional nurse caring for women across the lifespan. The course content will assist the learner in improving health promotion and restoration for women through all phases of life, including the care of women in the prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal periods. Professional nursing values of patient centered care, lifelong learning and quality improvement are components of classroom and clinical learning. Newborn nursing assessment will be included as part of the complete postpartum (includes mother/baby/family) phase. Applications of concepts and essential psychomotor skills are demonstrated in clinical experiences working with culturally diverse families.
Credit Hours: 3 (2 lecture/1 clinical)
Prerequisite Courses: NSG 300 , NSG 302 , NSG 306 (C or better). Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated. Major Restriction Nursing
