EGN 480 - Nearshore Geomatics Introduction to GIS concepts, use of software, and basic surveying approaches, focusing on nearshore and coastal zones. Topics: coordinate systems, projections, and transformations; geoids/ellipsoids; vertical and horizontal datums. Applied surveying techniques, data discovery, and data analysis methods, including RTK GPS beach profiling, Unmanned Aerial Systems, coastal LiDAR Digital Elevation Models, topobathy data sets, and hydrographic surveys.
Credit Hours: 3
