Whether you are new to the university or returning, I extend my sincerest congratulations and welcome. I am both a new and returning Seahawk. While I held previous leadership positions at UNCW, this is my first year as chancellor. I imagine we are feeling close to the same levels of eagerness and excitement in anticipation of what lies ahead. Serving as chancellor of this nationally ranked university is the opportunity of a lifetime, as is being a student here.
As a first-generation college graduate, I can attest to the transformative power of higher education. At UNCW, you have access to a community rich in scholarship, diversity and global perspectives in a beautiful coastal setting. With our programs, our people and our resources, UNCW’s potential is unlimited, as is yours.
As we celebrate UNCW’s 75th anniversary this year, we remain committed to you, our students. We will continue to thrive as a first-class institution of higher learning, proving to the community, the region and the world that UNCW is truly an institution like no other.
Again welcome, and remember the future starts with you.
