REC 373 - Outdoor Rec and Protected / Conservation Areas


This class will examine the historical and philosophical foundations of protected and conservation areas; provide an overview of the types of resources and services generally included in protected and conservation areas and best practices for their management; consider trends in outdoor recreation participation and the related demands placed upon protected and conservation areas; and introduce students to several professional outdoor recreation organizations.

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisite Courses: REC 265 , REC 270 .
Additional Restrictions/Requirements: Restricted to REC majors.
Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated.
