BIO 448 - Toxicology Introduction to basic concepts of toxicology as they relate to both ecological and human health, including distribution, cellular penetration, metabolic conversion, and elimination of toxic agents, as well as the fundamental laws governing the interaction of foreign chemicals with biological systems. Focus is on the application of these concepts to the understanding and prevention of the adverse effects resulting from environmental, occupational, or medical exposure to toxic substances (i.e., pesticides, pharmaceuticals, endocrine disrupting compounds).

Prerequisite Courses: BIO 201 and BIO 202 and CHM 211 Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated. Maximum Repeatable Hours: 3
