SOC 433 - Sociology of Mental Disorder Examination of the influences of race, social class, gender, and age on the incidence and prevalence of mental disorder. Consideration of the institutions that help those with mental disorders. Review of mental health law, including definitions of dangerousness, insanity as defense, mental health courts, and the right to treatment.
