COM 351 - Media and Politics History and theory of the relationships among the mass media, government, and the American public, and their implications for American democracy. Portrayal and effects of various media. Addresses the media’s independence from government, the structure of media organizations, media bias, news practices, political campaigns, and effects on public opinion.
