NSG 453  -  Clinical Reasoning for Critical Patients


Focuses on the development and application of advanced concepts in the management of critically ill adults. The course is designed to enhance clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and skill development for nursing students aspiring to work in the emergency department and/or critical care setting. There will also be an emphasis on the nurse’s role as an interdisciplinary team member and delivering patient centered care while incorporating clinical guidelines and protocols to ensure professional performance and values within legal and ethical frameworks.

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisite Courses: NSG 426  (C or better).
Additional Restrictions/Requirements: Minimum grade of C or better. Can only be taken in final semester of nursing school.
