NSG 451 - Pediatric Nursing Care: Beyond the Basics

Building upon previous coursework related to family-centered care, ethics, and evidence-based practice, this course will equip students with specialized knowledge to advance their care of pediatric patients. Focus will include communication with interdisciplinary care team members as well as current best practice guidelines for the pediatric population. Concepts of pediatric advanced life support, family nursing assessment for the complex pediatric client, service/applied learning projects.

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisite Courses: NSG 314, NSG 319 (C or better).
Additional Restrictions/Requirements: Minimum grade of C or better.
