CHHS 411 - Research & Evaluation Methods in Human Services This course introduces research design and analysis necessary to examine, apply, and utilize science in interdisciplinary human service settings. Course content includes an overview of current issues in knowledge development including the process of research utilization and evidence based practice. The student will conduct analytic critiques of the research literature for scientific merit, synthesize these critiques for application to practice, and develop strategies for providing leadership to make evidence based practice a reality in current and future work settings.
Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite Courses: (SWK 321 and SWK 496 ), or (EXS 313 or EXS 210 or RSP 324 ), or (STT 210 or STT 215 or BAN 280 ), or RTH 480 . Additional Restrictions/Requirements: All prerequisite courses must have a minimum grade of “C” or better. University Studies: Building Competencies/Writing Intensive, Building Competencies/Information Literacy, Critical Reasoning Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated.
