Transfer applicants may apply to enter the university at the beginning of the fall term, summer term or spring term.
Students seeking transfer admission to the University of North Carolina Wilmington must have graduated from an accredited high school, earned a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or obtained an Adult High School Diploma. Additionally, they must have completed college coursework at another institution after finishing secondary education.
Applicants under the age of 21 who have not completed 24 hours of transferable college coursework must meet North Carolina high school minimum course requirements. Additional recommendations for transfer admission are provided on the website.
UNCW does not admit by major or program. Admission requirements for particular programs of study at UNCW may differ from minimum admission standards. Transfer applicants should refer to the requirements listed for specific programs/majors within the specific college/school.
Application Procedure for Transfer Students
Students seeking transfer admission are required to comply with the following procedures:
- Submit a complete application by the appropriate application deadline date.
- Submit a non-refundable application fee with the application.
- Submit an official transcript from each college or university attended, including dual enrollment credit. It is the applicant’s responsibility to request that official transcripts are submitted by each institution attended to the Office of Admissions by the application deadline date.
- Submit official military transcripts (if applicable) to the UNCW Office of Admissions.
- Have an official high school transcript or GED sent to the Office of Admissions by the application deadline date.
