Mathematics, B.A. with Teacher Licensure

The Mathematics, B.A. degree is designed with the goals of a broad liberal education in mind. Licensed secondary school teachers with a B.A. in Mathematics are in high demand, as are qualified applicants for graduate schools in Mathematics. Additionally, a B.A. degree in Mathematics is regarded as excellent preparation for entrance to professional schools of Law, Medicine or Business.

Computer Requirement
To satisfy the computer requirement for the B.A. degree in Mathematics, a student must successfully complete the following in the core requirements: Oral Communication Requirement
To satisfy the oral communication requirement for the B.A. degree in Mathematics a student must successfully complete one of the courses below or any other approved oral intensive course (Oral Communication Intensive Courses ). Applied Learning Requirement
To satisfy the applied learning requirement for the B.A. degree in Mathematics a student must successfully complete one or more of the following: Core Courses (30 Credit Hours)
Teacher Licensure in Mathematics Required Courses (12 Credit Hours)
In addition to completing the core requirements for the B.A. major in mathematics, students seeking licensure in mathematics must complete: Total Major Credit Hours: 42
Additional Information
- An overall average of “C” (2.00) or better, with no grade lower than a “C-” is required for all 300-400-level mathematics or statistics courses counted toward the major.
