Sustainability Minor

The Department of Environmental Sciences offers an interdisciplinary minor in Sustainability. The minor examines the interconnected nature of environmental stewardship, economic stability, and personal and social responsibility necessary to achieve a sustainable future.

Requirements for a Minor in Sustainability


A minor in sustainability requires a total of 23 credit hours with a minimum overall quality point average of “C” (2.00) in courses counted. Students may select any EVS numbered courses not used in the core requirements as an elective. A minimum of 9 hours must be at the 300-400 level. A maximum of 12 credit hours counted toward a student’s major will be counted toward completion of the core and/or elective minor requirements in sustainability. Students selecting the minor are strongly encouraged to meet with an environmental studies advisor to determine a specific course of study.
