Oceanography Minor

The Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences offers a minor Oceanography. Because oceanography is a truly integrative and synthetic field which continues to become more technological and global in its approach, the oceanography minor requires students to develop basic proficiencies in a variety of oceanography related fields, while allowing students to focus on their specific interests through selection of appropriate elective course work.

Requirements for a Minor in Oceanography
Requires a minimum of 18 credit hours including 7 hours of core courses and 11 hours of electives. At least 9 hours of electives must be in courses at the 300 level or above.

Elective Courses (11 Credit Hours)
Students must also complete a minimum of 11 hours of electives, 9 of which must be above the 299 level. Students may select from any OCN courses, or from the following list.
Additional Information
Students must have an overall “C” (2.00) average in courses counted toward the minor. |
