Workforce Learning and Development, B.S.

The Workforce Learning and Development, B.S. is a new program awaiting approval from The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The program wlll be available to students once approval is granted.  

The Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Learning & Development (BSWLD): 

  • provides an undergraduate educational program well-grounded in the profession of training and development
  • responds to the need for organizational talent development professionals in the state and region, and;
  • creates an academically sound professional educational process consistent with the larger purposes and mission of UNCW.

Graduates with a Workforce Learning and Development B.S. are employed by government, military, health, non-profit, and business & industry organizations. They work with organizations to enhance the knowledge and skills of the workforce to aid in organizational growth.

Requirements for a Major in Workforce Learning and Development


Students seeking the B.S. degree must include LED 424 , STT 215  (or the equivalent), WLD 310 , WLD 315 , WLD 335 , WLD 380 , & WLD 480  in their university studies program. 

Oral Communication Requirement


To satisfy the oral communication requirement for the B.S. degree in WorkforceLearning & Development a student must successfully complete WLD 480 .
