Oceanography Minor

The Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences offers a minor Oceanography. Because oceanography is a truly integrative and synthetic field which continues to become more technological and global in its approach, the oceanography minor requires students to develop basic proficiencies in a variety of oceanography related fields, while allowing students to focus on their specific interests through selection of appropriate elective course work.

Requirements for a Minor in Oceanography:
Requires a minimum of 18 credit hours including 7 hours of core courses and 11 hours of electives. At least 9 hours of electives must be in courses at the 300 level or above.
Electives
Students must also complete a minimum of 11 hours of electives, 9 of which must be above the 299 level. Students may select from the following and any additional OCN course.
Additional Information:
Students must have an overall “C” (2.00) average in courses counted toward the minor. |
