The minor in Music provides students with foundational courses in music theory, aural skills, and music history; performance experience through applied lessons and ensembles; and the opportunity to explore their interests further through their choice of music electives.
These may include additional ensembles or applied lessons. Of the five elective hours, 3 must be from the 300 or 400 level.
Total: 23 hours
A minimum final grade of “C-” is required in each music course and an overall GPA of “C” (2.00) or better is required in courses counted toward the minor.
Admission to the program requires approval by the Department of Music and an audition in the major performance medium.
