II. Approaches and Perspectives


a. Aesthetic, Interpretive, and Literary Perspectives (at least 6 hours):


Note: No more than 3 hours from any one discipline.

b. Historical and Philosophical Approaches (at least 6 hours):


 Note: No more than 3 hours from any one discipline.

c. Scientific Approaches to the Natural World (at least 7 hours with one laboratory course):


 Note: No more than 4 hours from any one discipline; must include one laboratory course (*).

d. Understanding Human Institutions and Behaviors (at least 6 hours):


 Note: No more than 3 hours from any one discipline.

e. Living in Our Diverse Nation (at least 3 hours):


In satisfying the requirements of II. Approaches and Perspectives, students may double count one course from either e. Living in Our Diverse Nation or, f. Living in a Global Society, if that one course also appears in the list of courses under II.a. Aesthetic, Interpretive, and Literary Perspectives; II. b. Historical and Philosophical Approaches; or II. d. Understanding Human Institutions and Behaviors.

f. Living in a Global Society (at least 3 hours):


In satisfying the requirements of II. Approaches and Perspectives, students may double count one course from either e. Living in Our Diverse Nation or, f. Living in a Global Society, if that one course also appears in the list of courses under l.a. Composition; II.a. Aesthetic, Interpretive, and Literary Perspectives; II.b. Historical and Philosophical Approaches; II.c. Scientific Approaches to the Natural World; or II.d. Understanding Human Institutions and Behaviors.
