OCN 453 - Seafloor Mapping

Survey of different methods used to map the seafloor and sub-seafloor, including multibeam sonar, sidescan sonar, seismic reflection, and satellite altimetry. Operation of instruments, survey strategies, and techniques to process and interpret data will be explored. Three lecture and three laboratory hours per week. Shipboard field trip is required.
