RTH 290  -  Facility Dog Training


Introduction to the implementation of animal assisted interventions (AAI) utilizing highly-trained facility dogs. Emphasis will be on the selection and preparation of a facility dog to include topics of the: human animal bond, appropriate placement/screening of dog and facility, and the utilization of these dogs with multiple populations. Facility dogs and their handlers will be attending class on a regular basis.

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisite Courses: RTH 286 with a C- or better and RTH 287 with a C- or better
Additional Restrictions/Requirements: Prerequisite courses or permission of Instructor.
Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated.
