EDN 323 - Teaching Mathematics in the Middle Grades (6-9) This course examines the curriculum, materials, and methods appropriate for the teaching of mathematics at middle grade levels. There is an emphasis on problem-based instruction including the selection and implementation of high-level mathematics tasks and the teacher’s facilitation of problem-solving, collaboration and discussion. Coursework includes field experience.

Corequisite Courses: EDN 439 . Prerequisite Courses: EDN 301 and EDN 318 and EDN 320 and EDN 352 . Additional Restrictions/Requirements: Prerequisite courses and 6 hours of mathematics.
