EDN 512 - Historical and Contemporary Issues and Trends in Early Childhood Education Course Description: This course is designed to introduce the professionals who want to advance their knowledge and skills in early childhood field to the current as well as historical issues and trends impacting young children and their families. Through assigned readings, classroom discussions and various assignments, social, political, cultural, racial and economic roots of those issues and trends are studied. A special focus is given to developing an insight about the implications for the future of teaching and caring of young children and serving their families.
