IMB 542 - Econometrics


Course Description: The main goal of this course is to develop an understanding of basic principles of econometrics to be applied in management. The focus of the course will be on practical applications, rather than theoretical concepts. The primary econometric tool used is regression analysis. We will discuss applications of the regression method in business cases. Econometrics and statistics have a wide area of applicability in finance research. Discussion of testing for hypotheses derived from finance theory by applying the methods covered in class. This course will strive to provide an applied learning environment of basic data analysis methods in business and finance. Also, the course will utilize the JMP statistical software to discuss applications of econometric methods.
