NSG 673 - Advanced Finance and Economics

Course Description: This course examines theoretical underpinnings and financial management concepts that pertain to costs, cost analysis, budgeting, variance analysis, staffing, productivity, and forecasting to prepare nurse leaders for decision- making in complex health care organizations. Examines economic perspectives addressing health financing and policy questions, including: incentives and tradeoffs in healthcare decisions; healthcare production and provision; health insurance markets; and the role of government.
