GLS 555 - Playful Prompts: Finding Your Form

Course Description: This course will tour students through various creative writing forms. Exercises result in brief works of creative writing such as flash fiction, poetry, lyric essay, and other hybrid forms. We will experiment through prompts that eliminate the anxiety of a blank page and offer surprising results. This is a 15-week course with weekly reading, composition, and peer review/work-sharing objectives. The course will end with a final portfolio and a reflective essay. No previous creative writing experience necessary.
