SOC 586 - Sociology of Work, Occupations and the Labor Force Course Description: Theories of work and occupations; the changing structure of the labor force, the relationships between work, the individual and society. Focus on the changes in the place of work in society corresponding to technological and organizational change. Specific topics may include workplace restructuring, women and minorities in the labor force, and relations between labor and management.
