All new undergraduate students are required to attend an orientation program prior to the beginning of their first term. The purpose of orientation is to acquaint new students with academic requirements, campus resources, and engagement opportunities.
During main campus orientation, first-year and transfer students will work with an academic advisor, take placement tests as needed, meet their peers, learn about campus resources and register for courses. Registration for orientation is required in advance. More information about orientation can be found at https://www.uncw.edu/orientation.
All new undergraduate students enrolling in online degree programs will be required to complete an online orientation which will include modules about academics, campus and technology resources, and an overview of e-learning. Academic advising will be provided virtually. Program specific orientations may also be required. For more information, please refer to Distance Education & eLearning webpage, https://uncw.edu/myuncw/academics/deel/online-education/online-orientation
Re-enrolling students admitted to any degree program are not required to participate in orientation, as they previously completed the orientation requirement (either in person or online) at the time of their initial enrollment.
