The Department of Instructional Technology, Foundations and Secondary Education prepares educators/professionals for leadership positions in instructional technology and secondary education. The department also provides the foundations courses for all initial licensure programs. A minor is available in English as a second language. The secondary education program has strong alliances with the College of Arts and Sciences in the related secondary subject disciplines of mathematics, science, English, social sciences, foreign languages, physical education/health and music. Three graduate programs are offered: Master of Science in instructional technology; Master of Arts in Teaching in secondary education (English, mathematics, social studies, and science); and Master of Education in secondary education (English, history, mathematics, science and Spanish).
