ATR 570 - General Medicine and Pharmacology I Course Description: This course will examine the pathology, physical examination, referral, and treatment related to non-orthopedic conditions in the active population. The sequence will also address the basic knowledge and skills required of the professional athletic trainer on pharmacological applications, including awareness of the indications, contraindications, precautions, and interactions of medications to treat those conditions. Examples of topics include conditions of the cardiovascular, respiratory, integumentary, neurological, and EENT and the relevant pharmacological intervention for each.
Credit Hours: 3
Additional Restrictions/ Requirements: Students must be admitted into the Master of Science in Athletic Training Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated.
