CHHS 411 - Research & Evaluation Methods in Human Services


This course introduces research design and analysis necessary to examine, apply, and utilize science in interdisciplinary human service settings. Course content includes an overview of current issues in knowledge development including the process of research utilization and evidence based practice. The student will conduct analytic critiques of the research literature for scientific merit, sythesize these critiques for application to practice, and develop strategies for providing leadership to make evidence based practice a reality in current and future work settings.

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisite Courses: Prerequisite and corequisites: (SWK 321  and SWK 496 ), or EXS 313 , or EXS 210  and CHM 101  and BIO 201  and (MAT 111  or MAT 112  or MAT 115  or MAT 151  or MAT 161 ) or (STT 210  or STT 215  or BAN 280  or PSY 225 ), or RTH 480 
Additional Restrictions/Requirements: All prerequisite courses must have a mininum grade of “C” or better.
