PLS 423 - National Security Policy Formulation of security policy, including the roles of the executive and legislative branches and of non-governmental factors; evolution of changing assumptions, strategies, and goals; the nature of U.S. security requirements, U.S. military commitments abroad, and the cost of strategies based on weapons superiority, arms control, and disarmament.
