EDN 335 - Social Studies Education in the Middle Grades Examines the specific ways in which social studies curriculum can be organized to meet the learning needs of middle grade students. Emphasis on selection and preparation of appropriate materials, identification of instructional procedures, data-based decision making and the relevance of social inquiry to the real world. Work will include a field experience and preparation of an in-depth unit of study suitable for use at this level.
