HST 385 - Zionism and Israel Explores the emergence of Zionism in 19th-century Europe, the mass migration of Jews to the Middle East, and the establishment of Israel as the “Jewish state.” Topics may include the Arab-Israeli conflict, secularism and religion, and the relationship between Israel and the Jewish diaspora.
