EDN 334 - Social Studies Curriculum and Instruction (K-6) An overview of the goals of social studies education and how this affects various patterns of organizing curricular content. The implications of learner developmental characteristics for selecting approaches to instruction from history as well as the social and behavioral sciences will be explored. Emphasis on selection and preparation of appropriate materials including the strategies of inquiry, critical thinking, mapping and graphing, simulation, and problem solution. Field experiences required.
