SOC 526 - Social Control and Social Change Course Description: This course looks at how societal control mechanisms interact with a society’s ability incorporate change. Following a review of the social control literature, the class will analyze social behavior that breaks from existing patterns and expectations, such as riots, crowds, revolution, and social movements.
