GLY 226 - Principles of Hydrology Credits: 3 (GGY 235 ) Prerequisite: GGY 130 or GLY 101 or GLY 120 . Covers the three main components of terrestrial hydrology: (1) atmospheric water, precipitation, and surface-atmosphere interactions; (2) groundwater, infiltration, substance flow, and aquifers; and (3) surface water, watersheds, rivers and floods. Lectures and exercises focus on collecting and interpreting hydrological data to address environmental issues. Satisfies University Studies IV: Building Competencies/Quantitative and Logical Reasoning.
