PHY 425 - Atomic and Molecular Physics

Credits: 3
Prerequisite: PHY 444 . The quantum theory of atomic and molecular structure and spectra. Topics include relativistic and electromagnetic interactions; the hydrogen atom, the helium atom, multielectron atoms; radiative and Auger transitions, selection rules; diatomic and simple polyatomic molecules.
