MAT 337 - Applied Abstract Algebra Credits: 3 Prerequisite: MAT 335 and MAT 336 . Study of applied topics in groups, rings, and fields. Topics may include abstract linear algebra, field extensions, Euclidean constructions, codes; Galois groups, solvability by radicals; structure of finite abelian groups, Sylow theorems; prime and maximal ideals, Gröbner bases.
