ENG 350 - American Romanticism

Prerequisite: ENG 103 or ENG 201. ENG 204 or ENG 205 recommended but not required. Study of the major writers, 1820-1865, whose works fashioned a national literary identity known as the American Renaissance. May include such writers as Emerson, Thoreau, Hawthorne, Poe, Whitman, and Melville.
