CSC 342 - Operating Systems

Prerequisite: CSC 242  and CSC 332 . Introduction to the C language and study of supervisory programs. System services and file systems; CPU scheduling; memory management; virtual memory; disk scheduling. Deadlock characterization, prevention, and avoidance; concurrent processes; semaphores; critical sections; synchronization. Distributed systems and communication protocols.
