Prerequisites: COM 101 and a grade of ‘B’ or above in COM 200. Restricted to COM majors. Explores how the medium of film uses narrative devices such as stock plots, characters, and situations to communicate political ideas and shape audience perceptions of reality. Topics include: The Great Depression, World War II, the Cold War, Civil Rights, Vietnam War,the Clinton years, and contemporary political eras and issues.
