Public Policy and Administration, B.S.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy and Administration is designed to meet the needs of students who would like to pursue a career in Local, State, and/or Federal Government as well as private sector consulting and civic organizations.

Oral Requirements


To satisfy the oral communication requirement for the Bachelor of Science in Public Policy and Administration a student must successfully complete PLS 401

Core Courses (36 Credit Hours)


Additional Information

For PLS 201 - Introduction to Political Science Methods ,if student is a double major, a methods course for the other major may substituted.

For PLS 217 - Ethics and Leadership in Public Life , if a student is a double major, courses covering ethics as a core component may substituted.

For PLS 498 - Internship in Political Science , the internship must be policy-based and worth three (3) credit hours.

Additional Information

PLS 312 - Political Analysis  can be repeated after taken as a core course.

Substitutions for the core/analytical courses identified outside of PIA/ABOVE LISTS may be added with required permissions.

Students will choose one of the four following tracks at an additional nine (9) credit hours:
