French Minor

The College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts offers a minor in French and Francophone Studies. While developing advanced-level proficiency in the French language, students will become knowledgeable about the cultures, history, and artistic production of the French-speaking world. The following combination of skills are developed through on-campus study and recommended study abroad: language proficiency; intercultural competence; critical thinking; creative problem-solving, and adaptability. French minors develop skills to successfully navigate the world and enhance their preparation for a variety of professions in fields including film, business, government and politics, engineering, law, education, tourism, healthcare, and scientific research and development. Requirements for a Minor in French

Completion of a minimum of 18 semester hours at the 200 level and above, excluding FRH 209 . Of these, at least 9 hours must be at the 300 level or higher.

Courses (9 Credit Hours)

9 Credit Hours at 200 level or above.

Courses (9 Credit Hours)

at least 9 credit hours must be at the 300 level or higher.

Total Credit Hours: 18

Additional Information

A grade of ‘C-’ or better is required in each course counted toward the minor.
