Program Coordinator: Greta Bliss, Ph.D.

The College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts offers a minor in French and Francophone Studies. While developing advanced-level proficiency in the French language, students will become knowledgeable about the cultures, history, and artistic production of the French-speaking world. The following combination of skills are developed through on-campus study and recommended study abroad: language proficiency; intercultural competence; critical thinking; creative problem-solving, and adaptability. French minors develop skills to successfully navigate the world and enhance their preparation for a variety of professions in fields including film, business, government and politics, engineering, law, education, tourism, healthcare, and scientific research and development. For additional information about the French minor, please contact the French program coordinator in the Department of World Languages & Cultures, Dr. Greta Bliss.
